Digitized Figures ↬ 14-16 & 21-23 October 2016

Smart Snow—a collaboration between Kathleen Kelley and Sarah Rose Nordgren—
in partnership with The Vanderbilt Republic, is pleased to premiere
the immersive video/performance installation “Digitized Figures”
during the 20th annual Gowanus Open Studio weekend.

In their commitment to creating art that pushes the forms
of dance and poetry into new technological territories, Smart Snow
introduces a completely new form in “Digitized Figures” — choreographed text.
This form, in which text moves and “dances” across the screen and performance environment,
invites the viewer into a new relationship with language itself, presenting it both
as moving bodies and as digital material saturating the space.
